The primary responsibilities of this*Program Director*position is to support the management of specialty pharmacy drug spend through an integrated medical and pharmacy portfolio of projects and initiatives. This role partners with clinical pharmacists and other internal business partners and supplies Subject Matter Expertise for implementation of specialty drug management interventions, reporting and other non-clinical strategies. Establishes program governance when needed to assure compliance with regulations and program success, researches applicable subject matter practices; and remains aware of industry trends.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Direct the development, planning, prioritization, approval, implementation and compliance of specialty pharmacy sponsored enterprise Cost of Care savings initiatives from planning and initiation to execution.
-Manage multiple specialty pharmacy projects and tasks to meet goals and timelines; procure necessary resources from multiple departments across a large organization to accomplish project tasks; consistently complete projects efficiently and effectively.
-Provide enterprise Subject Matter Expertise for specialty pharmacy processes and programs.
-Complete evaluation to ensure program implementation and activities adhere to government regulations.
This is a non-clinical position. We are not seeking a pharmacist or someone whose background has been in a retail pharmacy setting. The ideal candidate will have corporate specialty pharmacy exp. in the healthcare industry.
* Requires a BA/BS degree; MBA preferred.
* 10 years of experience in Program/Project Management that includes a strong emphasis in pharmacy program strategy in a managed care setting; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
* Experience with Specialty Pharmacy program strategy strongly preferred.
* Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* Project management certification (PMP) preferred.
* Strong organizational skills required.
